The Railway Museum is a museum dedicated to the history of the railway that is located in Vilanova i la Geltrú, just next to the train station.
Vilanova has a history closely linked to the train: it was through this that the city experienced an intense economic development. So much that the Railway Museum houses one of the largest collections of steam locomotives in Europe. Located in the old locomotive tank of Vilanova, it shows the universe of the train and its role in the contemporary world. In the facilities a suggestive trip from the origins to the 21st century is proposed, through a variety of objects. The Railway Museum is part of the Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia as a collaborating entity.
Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Saturday afternoon from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
On AUGUST open every day from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM and from 5 PM to 8 PM.
